Twinkle Twinkle Little Nail Stars!

Hello friends! Today I bring you a small and simple nail tutorial for a set I posted on tumblr a few weeks ago. This is going to be the first of many I think. Let me know how I did! 

Let's get started!

The only difference between the ones shown above and the tutorial below are that I didn't do the dots and instead did a colorful tip. You can do either or both!

STEP ONE: MATERIALS

You will need the following:

• two or more different color polishes. I used pink and lilac!
• A glitter polish
• Top and or Base Coat Polish
• Mini star nail art decorations
• Tweezers
• File and nail Buffer (optional)

STEP 2: FILE AND BUFF NAILS (OPTIONAL)

This step is optional but it's one I personally never leave out. Filing your nails to nice even shapes helps the overall appearance and presentation of everything. I did an oval shape but you can do square squoval or whatever suits your fancy.

STEP 3: BASE COAT

To help the polish adhere to your  nails better and protect them from staining use a nice base coat over clean nails. Make sure you use a quality brand. The one I'm using is generic and ended up chipping after a few hours UGH.

STEP 4: POLISH POLISH POHLESH

Ultimately you can use any colors and do any patterns you want. I went for something simple like this. Pink and purple combos are my favorite! Remember. Do one coat at a time and let it dry in between coats. Try not to glob so much at once if you have polish that isn't completely opaque after one application. Take your time! Do this when you know you wont have to do anything for a while that involves you using your hands too much.

STEP 5: GLITTTTTERRRR!!!!

GLITTER GLITTER GLITTERRRR Use two coats or however many you think you need. I ended up using about three coats and a few more after the star application. 

STEP 6: STARS!

Using your tweezers (since the stars are super tiny) carefully pick them up one by one and place them where you think they look best on your nails. It's best to do this right after you apply the glitter so you can gently sink them into the still drying polish and help them adhere better.

After this, wait about a full hour before doing anything to let them dry. Nail polish takes about SIX HOURS to completely dry! So keep that in mind and don't blow on them either! All you're doing is adding moisture with your spit and you're not really helping any! 

So with that you're ready to hit the towns with your cute twinkling nails. As for me, I'm off  to enjoy some BBQ and watch anime in my little hole of a room. I hope you enjoyed!
